Scottish Rugby has contested if a misconduct charge from World Rugby isappropriate.
Comments produced by chief executive Mark Dodson with Japan regarding the potential cancellation of the World Cup game are referred to an independent disputes questionnaire.
Dodson had hinted at legal action, once the game was in doubt because of Typhoon Hagibis.
The match went ahead and Scotland lost 28-21 to exit in the group stage.
A Scottish Rugby spokesperson explained:Scottish Rugby once more expresses its sincere condolences to the people of Japan and all those affected by Typhoon Hagibis which broke last weekend.
Weve been able to communicate our very best wishes directly to the mayor of Yokohama and the chairman of the Western Rugby Union. We stand with the folks of Japan.
Following receipt of correspondence from World Rugby, Scottish Rugby confirms it has received a notice of criticism from Rugby World Cup Ltd.. Scottish Rugby is currently querying whether the thing is a suitable one for the bringing of misconduct charges.
If misconduct proceedings would be to move, Scottish Rugby looks forward to getting a fair hearing in this matter. No additional comment would be appropriate at this time.
