Scottish Rugby has questioned whether a misconduct charge from World Rugby isappropriate.
Remarks produced by chief executive Mark Dodson about the possible cancellation of the World Cup game have been known to an independent disputes questionnaire.
Dodson had hinted at legal action, when the match was in doubt due to Typhoon Hagibis.
The match went ahead and Scotland dropped 28-21 to exit at the group stage.
An Scottish Rugby spokesperson stated:Scottish Rugby once again expresses its sincere condolences to those of Japan and all those affected by Typhoon Hagibis which struck last weekend.
Weve been able to convey our very best wishes straight to the mayor of Yokohama and also the chairman of the Western Rugby Union. We stand with all the people of Japan.
After receipt of correspondence from World Rugby, Scottish Rugby affirms that it has received a note of complaint from Rugby World Cup Ltd.. Scottish Rugby is currently querying whether the matter is a suitable one for the bringing of misconduct charges.
If misconduct proceeding are to proceed, Scottish Rugby looks forward to receiving a fair hearing in this issue. No further comment would be proper at this time.
